A step-by-step guide to men’s skincare regime in 2024 | Pre skincare
Cleansing is the foundation of any skincare routine. Moreover, it helps remove dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin’s surface, preventing breakouts and keeping the skin clean.
Use a gentle facial wash to wash away sweat, oil, and impurities that accumulate on your skin overnight. Also, look for a face wash that suits your skin type, whether it’s oily, dry, or sensitive. Gently massage it onto your damp face and neck, then rinse thoroughly.
In the night, cleansing is quite important to remove the day’s dirt and pollutants. Repeat the morning cleansing routine and the above step as mentioned. I use Forest Essentials Face wash for both morning and night cleansing.
Special Step: Face Scrub and Face Pack (Once a Week)
Exfoliation is the process of removing dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. It helps keep your skin looking fresh and youthful. Use first face scrub, gently massage on the face, and leave for a few minutes. After rinsing with water, use a face pack and leave for 20-30 minutes. Be cautious not to over-exfoliate, as this can lead to irritation and sensitivity. I have been using Charcoal face scrub and Face Pack from the brand Beardo.

Face Toner (Morning and Night)
Toner moreover, helps balance the skin’s pH levels and prepares it to absorb subsequent skincare products. Go for an alcohol-free toner to avoid drying out your skin. Apply it by gently patting it onto your face and neck with a cotton pad or your clean hands.
Face Serum (Morning and Night)
A face Serum is also a light, quick-absorbing skincare product with ingredients beneficial for the skin. It’s designed to target specific skin concerns and provide various benefits such as hydration, brightening, and anti-aging. Apply a few drops of serum after toner and allow it to absorb into the skin before moving on to the next step.
Moisturising (Morning and Evening)
Moisturising helps in maintaining skin moisture hence preventing the dryness of the skin. They help in rejuvenating damaged or dull skin due to the presence of antioxidants in it. They are extremely beneficial for acne-prone skin as they tend to provide hydration to the skin. It is also proven to help in fighting premature aging and thus make the skin softer. Choose a moisturiser that suits your skin type, whether it’s lightweight for oily skin or richer for dry skin. Apply it evenly to your face and neck. I use De-Tan face gel from the brand The Man Company as a moisturiser.
Sun Protection (Morning)
Sunscreen is an extremely important step in any skincare routine. UV rays can damage the skin, leading to premature aging and the risk of skin cancer. Choose a sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and apply it generously in the morning, even on cloudy days. Reapply after every four hours if you spend extended time outdoors. I use a Sunscreen from The Derma Co with SPF 50.
Eye Cream (Morning and Night)
The skin around the eyes is delicate and prone to wrinkles and dark circles. Using an eye cream can help target these issues. Apply a small amount of eye cream using your ring finger, but gently tapping it around the eye area, from the inner to the outer corners. I use Biotique eye gel for my under eyes.
Night Cream (Night)
At night, our skin naturally repairs itself. A night cream can also provide added hydration and nourishment. Look for a night cream but with ingredients catering to specific skin concerns. Also, apply it in the evening as the last step of your routine. I use Ustraa Night Cream which is moreover, soft and gentle on my skin.
Lip Balm(Twice a Day)
Lip balm also, provides essential hydration, preventing dry and chapped lips. It offers protection from harsh environmental elements like wind and cold weather, keeping the delicate skin on the lips moisturized and shielded. Using lip balm regularly can however, contribute to a more polished and well-groomed appearance. I use Mocha Lip Balm from Beardo for best results.
